Montreal at Labor Day

Trips to Quebec are so much about companionship and food–this photoset demonstrates that, for certain, as it includes not only handholding but chop-chop poutine and Breton cider and the most decadent chocolate desserts of all time. But there’s also something about the shapes, the way the architecture comes together, and every time I’m there I try once again to capture that certain je nais sais quoi. The closest I can come to explaining it: English and French are distant cousins in active coexistence in this city. And you can see it in the landscape.
